Powerful passwords A perennial problem for many of us is how to generate strong passwords that are “unbreakable” – and… are easy to remember. Here are some tips and tricks that I have found very helpful. First up is Choosing a Pretty Good Password - which gives the top then ways we create our passwords – caution - the first five are not good and it turns out that those are the ones most of us use!!! Second are notes from a great AlphaPlus Tech Tuesday session on Passwords and Internet Security - lots of great advice on creating strong passwords and generally protecting yourself on the internet – there is also a great list of password managers. The notes are also available in PDF and could be a very useful resource in developing staff training or a lesson plan on internet security.
Finally, thanks to Barry’s Best Windows and Android Apps I have become a devotee of Wolfram Alpha a power tool to generate strong, strong passwords.
