Great (web) places to visit and explore…

One of the things I like best about the web and web 2.0 is the way so many people are willing to share what they know and what they find. I like that spirit of collaboration and learning together and from each other.  Here are a few interesting sites to learn about the hows and whys of some web tools,  that came across my desktop this week..

The first is Social Media 101 a  straightforward introduction to things like blogs and wikis and photosharing etc. tools that fall under the category of Social Media    – this is a very good introduction and a handy reference guide .

The next is the annual and ever popular 25 Tools: A Toolbox for Learning Professionals from  the Centre  for Learning and Performance Technologies in the U.K. The list was put together by Jane Hart and represents the most popular tools selected by learning professional around the world.  This list is well worth browsing through.

Finally, there’s  Working with Wikis a Techtorial created and made available to educators by Education World in the U.S.  There’s a growing list of these Techtorias on the Education World web site and all are worth looking at – they could be used for personal learning, with students and for professional development.
