1. Research and innovation
AlphaPlus is always searching for new technological tools to assist adult education and literacy service providers. This includes discrete tools, curriculum and digital learning strategies; and lesson plans and best practices for organizational efficiency and improved learner experiences. It takes the form of field study, literature surveys and original research. AlphaPlus endeavours to discover real-world issues occurring in adult literacy and education program delivery, and strives to identify and propose practical solutions.
2. Resource development
AlphaPlus is constantly seeking and identifying digital learning tools and best practices. These resources are carefully catalogued and organized into appropriate, accessible formats that allow the adult literacy and learning service providers to easily adopt and deploy up-to-date tools and methodologies. In addition to resource development, we support organizations to develop and implement planning tools and practices. We also support organizations seeking to implement tools and practices to increase their capacity and technology uptake with our ongoing support.
3. Professional development and education
AlphaPlus aims to transfer our resources and knowledge within the adult education community with professional development programs that support educators, instructors, program delivery staff and program administrators. Our professional development opportunities are offered in person and online. Customized professional development sessions offered in-house at your organization are also available.
4. Communications and promotions
AlphaPlus engages in a variety of activities targeting adult education service providers to communicate and promote our research activities, outcomes, digital tools and resources, and services offered. AlphaPlus advocates for technological innovation and policy improvement within the adult education field, and seeks to connect educators and programs with the latest tools, technologies and best practices.
5. Support and consultation
AlphaPlus provides ongoing support and consultation to meet the operational, practical and technological needs of adult education and literacy service providers seeking to incorporate blended learning into their programs, and to facilitate clear understanding and application of Competency D of the Ontario Adult Literacy Curriculum Framework (OALCF).
AlphaPlus establishes and cultivates partnership projects aligned with our unique abilities and knowledge base as well as those offering revenue streams beyond the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities (MTCU).
