August 20th, 2012 by Monika Jankowska-Pacyna
This fall, Conestoga College will offer the first of it’s kind Family Literacy Certificate Program.
This part-time program is based on six modules that will be delivered online creating an interactive virtual classroom that you can access no matter where you are. It will allow participants to meet other like minded professionals seeking to strengthen and build on existing knowledge in supporting children, adults and families in matters related to learning and literacy.
This program is delivered in collaboration with Vancouver Community College (VCC) and the Centre for Family Literacy in Alberta and was developed for all levels of leadership from executive directors and board members, to practitioners and facilitators, who wish to build upon their knowledge, skills and expertise in the social and human services and related fields.
The first module, Fundamentals of Family Literacy, will broaden and deepen participants’ knowledge of the goals and context for family literacy and explore family literacy from the perspective of a new conceptual framework. The registration for this course is now open.
To register, visit http://www.conestogac.on.ca/ce/courses/coursesearch.jsp and in the keyword search type in “family literacy”.
