Connecting with Twitter
July 16th, 2010 by Administrator
Way back in September 2009 I posted a link to a fantastic post by Jane Hart on Fifty Twitter Tutorials for Teachers – I must confess that even though I spent some time working on some of the tutorials I haven’t exactly made much use of Twitter !!! In fact I wondered if and how I would ever use it and couldn’t really think how it would be useful to me in my work… and then… Sue Waters posted – A Twitteraholic’s Guide to tweets, hashtags, and all things Twitter – in it she notes…
“…for those of you who have heard of twitter and have dismissed it thinking ‘”Twitter is for people with too much time on their hands” — think again
Educators are connecting with each other on Twitter and using it like a big teachers lunch room that’s open 24/7 whenever they need help, assistance or just want to connect with others”
I hadn’t thought about Twitter as a place to connect and learn from each other – as a community. But why not?? – so inspired by Sue Waters I am setting out to explore Twitter again – starting with Sue’s post which is full of tips and tricks about signing up and using Twitter. I also found this very helpful Twitter Guide to help me get started.
So… Happy Tweeting…
