Web 2.0 Buffet
July 9th, 2009 by Maria Moriarty
I am a big fan of Go2Web one of the largest Web 2.0 indexes – it’s a treasure house of Web 2.0 applications – but there are so many being added all the time that it’s hard to keep up. Here is a small sample of interesting and useful applications I found on Go2Web just during this week!!! So I thought I would put together a simple “buffet” of interesting and useful applications that could be used in adult literacy teaching and learning – and, of course just for fun. Enjoy!
Similar Web helps you to find similar sites to the one you are viewing. It couldn’t be easier – as you surf, small thumbnails of similar sites appear in the tool bar.
Snipi allows you to drag and drop products, photos and videos from anywhere online and to automatically save them to your personal profile. Snipi enables sharing of your “snips” directly or via Facebook, WordPress and Twitter
Openzine is a social publishing platform that allows you to create a free website that looks like a magazine with text, pictures and video.
Drop Mind calls itself a “natural thinking tool” – it’s actually a versatile mind-mapping tool to help spark creativity ideas and solutions.
If you are a a list-maker then Itumz is the application for you – make to-do lists, group task lists, any kind of list you want – access them from any web browser and share them.
Travel the world virtually with FACTBOOK. Just click on a country’s flag to get some basic information or click on a country’s page to get more in-depth information – this is a fun way to learn about the world- and it’s free!!
