  • Enhance your understanding of what learners need in an online learning space (we will discuss the different ways teachers are using online spaces)
  • Create a Google site that you can adapt to your needs and the needs of the learners (we will guide you through the process of setting up a site and adding elements — you can build alongside the facilitators or watch the demonstrations and build later)
  • Expand your list of teaching resources (we will encourage participants to share resources that learners love to populate the sites we build)

Enhancing Literacy Skills with Visible Thinking Routines

Three 90-minute workshops to introduce literacy instructors to ways to integrate the Harvard Project Zero visible thinking routines into lesson and curriculum plans.

A thinking routine is a set of questions or a brief sequence of steps used to scaffold and support learner thinking. Thinking routines help to reveal a learner’s thinking to the teacher and help learners to notice and name particular reflection and critical thinking processes, making those processes more available and useful to them in other contexts.

  • Explore how visible thinking routines help learners and what they look like in action
  • Expand your understanding of how educational technologies enhance visible thinking strategies
  • Develop a practice of integrating visible thinking strategies with your existing resources
