Useful Apps

The AlphaPlus Useful Apps collection was initially created in response to the growing use of Chromebooks and tablets in adult literacy classrooms. Please note: This collection of app reviews was assembled between 2018 and 2020 and is no longer being maintained.

Useful apps: a curated collection of reviews

The Useful Apps collection was curated by AlphaPlus team members with librarian expertise. Each app was evaluated against several criteria, including its suitability for adult learners, usefulness for literacy and numeracy teaching and learning, potential to support engagement and motivation, and cost (free or low). This collection also includes apps useful for program administration, note-taking, productivity, and collaborative work.
